Backdate: Day 20 - Silent Grove & Bell Gorge

Today we left Windjana and continued onto Silent Grove.

On the way we called into Lennard Gorge, it was a huge walk that was actually quite difficult and took just over an hour to complete. Unfortunately they have created a lookout at the top to look over the gorge and waterfalls but unless it is at full flood you can’t see barely anything.  This was the case for us. It was disappointing after walking so far, we have some photos of what we did see though.

We also saw Queen Victoria’s Head (it is a rock on the Napier Ranges) photo below

We passed a bike rider as well! Unbelievable, that would be one hell of a bike ride, constant corrugations and a long, hot, dusty road!

We headed onto Silent Grove and went for a walk to see Bell Gorge. The end of the walk takes you right to the edge of the top of the range that looks over the gorge... absolutely breathtaking! We took a heap of photos and then we continued across the top of the waterfall to the harder walk that takes you down to the base of the gorge to go swimming.  It is quite a hard walk at the end you are using both hands and feet. We had a swim but it was sooo cold! We had a good time though and took some really nice photos!

Bell Gorge was stunning and we were so glad we went there. Everything we have read has said to visit and now we understand why! Highly recommended.
