Day 23.
Rhianna and Anthony are safe at Ellenbrae where it is like an oasis in the desert. Apparently they also have amazing scones!
The first damage for the trip has occurred. A smashed reverse light on the camper trailer. Probably a flying rock! Also lost the brakes on the trailer but Anthony has that under control with his capable hands and knowledge.
Rhianna thinks that the road between Manning and Ellenbrae are the worst so far. She is hoping for lots of improvement on the next leg of the journey.
Everything else is fine and they head off to El Questro tomorrow and that means we cross the mighty
Pentecost River in the morning. What a great name for a river!
And so as the intrepid travellers set up camps and battle flies and dust, we are living the good life in Alice Springs. We visited the old Stuart Jail that houses the Pioneer Women's Collection. Well worth the visit and there are lots of chairs to sit and read all the info.
I bought Diva a little squeaky toy and her antics with it would make a great video....
She is not game to bite it to make a noise but likes me squeezing it and then tries to nudge it with her nose to get a noise from it.
Best wishes,
Dell.
